Industry training organisations (ITOs) are those training providers approved by the Industry Training Organisation governing body to deliver endorsed workplace training. ITOs are recognised as providers of quality-assured and workplace relevant training. Industry Training Organisations issue qualifications at the completion of courses however these are not Nationally Recognised Qualifications. The qualifications represent the workplace skills completed as part of the training with an approved employer of choice. Assessments are required to be completed to received a qualification however assessments are based on a workplace competency (standard set by the employer) rather than academic standards.
